ANDA

Abbreviated New Drug Application:  A form of fast track and simplified application, used before the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to secure approval of a drug where a “bioequivalent” compound is already in the marketplace. An ANDA is much faster, less expensive, and more certain than an IND. ANDA’s are typically used for “generic” drugs.
